Norman Schumann holds a PhD in mathematics and brings an interdisciplinary background spanning mathematics, philosophy, and communication. His academic path took him to institutions including Ruhr University Bochum and Johns Hopkins University. His work centers on how the media covers pressing societal issues. As a freelance researcher, he is affiliated with the Chair of Communication Studies, specializing in Climate and Science Communication, at the University of Hamburg. As co-founder and spokesperson of the initiative KLIMA° vor Acht e.V., he champions greater visibility and stronger quality in media reporting on climate issues.
