Dr. Bjoern Schaefer is heading the group procurement activities for a German SME that develops, produces and sells hilghly precise lab equipment and material as well as vacuum pumps with more than 900 employees. Here he is forming an efficient procurement organization and positioning procurement as one value Driver of the company is near to his heart. Internationalizing the supplier base and digitizing processes, including a S4 HANA implementation, are currently on top of this agenda.

Before he joined BRAND Bjoern was Director for a part of the raw-material portfolio at a SME food and beverage ingredients producer. Besides having led several sourcing excellence projects he focused on setting up supply chains to the origin of natural raw-materials.

Bjoern started his career at BASF and gained several years of international experience in various positions in Audit and Global Product Management Nutrition & Health. He holds a PhD in the field of Corporate Governance and has completed an MBA program in Florida, USA besides his Business and Economics degrees from German universities.
