Thomas Germer is Director Central Procurement at Munich-based ADAC, Europe’s largest and world’s second largest automobile club with currently over 21.5 million members. ADAC is particularly committed to individual mobility, consumer protection, road safety and road safety education. ADAC's commercial activities are combined in ADAC SE, while non-profit activities are bundled in the ADAC Foundation. Thomas has over 23 years of experience in procurement and transformation from different positions in management, consulting, research and as an entrepreneur. Before joining ADAC, Thomas was CPO at AXA Germany and Group CPO at Munich Re’s primary insurance branch ERGO. He studied business administration at the University of Giessen and holds a PhD in business administration from renowned WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management. In 2006, Thomas was awarded the National Research Award for his dissertation on online reverse auctions in strategic procurement.
