Inga Naumane
European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA)
Inga Naumane is the Head of the Finance and Corporate Services Unit at the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA), an agency of the European Commission responsible for insurance and pensions supervision, located in Frankfurt am Main.
Within EIOPA, Inga’s unit oversees public procurement.
EIOPA procures mainly goods and services necessary for a well-functioning office, such as for cleaning services, furniture as well as IT services, software and studies and specific financial data. EU organisations typically try to work together and to procure jointly.
Last year, for example, EIOPA led a procurement for the assessment of management skills in which 21 other EU organisations took part.
Furthermore, Inga’s unit is in charge of budget, finance and facility as well as event management.
Inga also provides internal trainings to colleagues interested in sustainable procurement. Last year Inga published an article “Duty or necessity? – How the European Union Agencies are approaching green procurement” for the Latvian Magazine “Interests of Latvia in EU”. Inga has more than 20 years of experience within EU organisations, including the area of procurement.
Before taking up her position at EIOPA, Inga was Procurement Coordinator at the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex), located in Warsaw.
In addition to her mother tongue Latvian, Inga is fluent in German, English, Russian, Polish and can communicate in Spanish and French.
Inga has a Masters degree in Public Procurement Law from Nottingham University.
