Ingmar Mester

Since March 2020, I have been responsible for Supplier Management in the Procurement Excellence department at Hapag-Lloyd AG in Hamburg. This involves setting up the necessary structures, processes and tools for globally uniform supplier management.

After completing my studies in International Business, I started my professional career at Kraft Jacobs Suchard in Bremen in the Controlling department. After 2 years, I switched to purchasing and spent more than 11 years in various functions and locations, responsible for procurement of packaging materials and food raw materials and ingredients. At the end of 2011, I took over as Head of Purchasing at a medium-sized food producer in the Hamburg area, where I was involved with the introduction of purchasing tools, among other things. In 2017, I took over the management of disposition and purchasing at an importer and distributor for branded food products.

Since 2002, I have repeatedly dealt with the topic of technological support for purchasing, whereby I was frequently in contact with service providers that can be assigned to the startup scene.
