Tobias Martinetz

In 2016 Tobias Martinetz moved to Hamburg to support the regional procurement team as a Senior Buyer for infrastructure works and services with Deutsche Bahn AG. The regional scope covers the procurement of all railway related infrastructure works in Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, Bremen and Lower Saxony. Disciplines cover superstructure, structural and civil engineering as well as architectural finishes and MEP works. On a strategic level Mr. Martinetz supports Deutsche Bahn’s initiative “Global Value Sourcing” by identifying and developing international infrastructure contractors.

Prior to his assignment in Hamburg he worked as a buyer for the international markets of DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH; a Deutsche Bahn AG subsidiary covering design, operations and project management. His experience covers broad categories of railway related engineering and business services in complex market conditions like the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.

Regarding the panel discussion Mr. Martinetz brings along his experience working in a completely digitised procurement processes in which from the tender design until claim management workflows, digital signatures, tender platforms and calculation tools replaced the former paper folder. Further he will discuss future requirements for the role of an infrastructure buyer.
