Dr. Sebastian Waengler is Head of Procurement Engineering at Siemens Power and Gas Division. Managing the interface between Engineering and Procurement is the central responsibility of that team. Starting with the early involvement of suppliers with strategic relevance up the coordination of the supply chain ramp up for the serial production, the procurement engineer manages all relevant procurement processes within R&D projects. With that scope of responsibilities, the role of the procurement engineer has developed to key player within the strategic procurement organization of Siemens Power and Gas.
