Konrad Auinger

Konrad Auinger (49 years old, married, two children) has been working in purchasing and supply chain management for over 25 years.

Since mid of 2018 he is primarily responsible for the purchasing function as Vice President Group Supply Chain Management at PIA Automation.

His focus at PIA is
- Setting-up and developing a strategic purchasing function,
- Harmonising of business processes and
- Identification of group-wide synergies.
In simple words: he saves money for the PIA Group!

His previous positions included well-known companies from the industrial sector (Siemens AG, Osram), the household appliance industry (Bosch and Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH), the automotive industry (Brose) and special machinery (Terex Cranes GmbH). Here he mostly had to deal with the set-up or re-organization of the purchasing function in a national and international context.

In addition, he is on the board of the BME regional group Mainfranken and deputy board member of the VDMA materials management committee.

Developing organisations, processes and people as well as the identification and implementation of (sav-ings) potentials are core competencies of Mr. Auinger. It is important to him to take people with him on the journey. His extensive intercultural experience in dealing with people from China, North America, Spain and Central and Eastern Europe helps him a lot.

In addition to savings, productivity improvements in purchasing are right at the top of his agenda in 2021: Technologies are an important enabler for the digital transformation. However, they must neither become an end in themselves nor be the focus.

People can make the difference! That was true in the analog world and will be true in the digital world, as well.
