Stephan Schmitz studied Area Studies East Asia with a focus on Chinese law and economics in Cologne (Germany), Hangzhou and Nanjing (PR China) as well as in Melbourne (Australia).
On the purchasing side, Mr. Schmitz deals with issues of global procurement and here primarily with company, production and product relocations between Europe, USA and Asia.
Mr. Schmitz has a very wide range of experience in various branches and industries. Until June 2020, Mr. Schmitz worked in different management positions worldwide for Germany's oldest family company, the Prym Group. In his last position, he managed seven procurement offices and was responsible for group purchasing in Asia Pacific, Europe and the U.S. Since July 2020, Mr. Schmitz has been Purchasing Director at the SIHL Group, a manufacturer of special coatings for papers and films.
