Anosha Wahidi

A lawyer by training, Anosha Wahidi has been working at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development since 2008 where she focuses on cooperation with business, commercial law and sustainability standards. Under her leadership, the state-owned textile standard Grüner Knopf was designed and launched in 2019. She has also played a key role in shaping the partnership on sustainable textiles, and has accompanied and represents the BMZ in the steering committee since it was founded. Anosha Wahidi is a vocal advocate for what the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights call a Smart Mix and led the Ministry’s activities in the context of the monitoring of the German National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights. In particular, she has played a key role in the development of the key aspects of the due diligence legislation in Germany and is accompanying developments in this regard at EU and UN level..
