As Head of Process Modeling in the Center of Excellence Process Management, I am currently responsible for process modeling in the Lufthansa Group. My team advises the process owners in the different Business Areas, among other things, on the structure of the process architecture and the continuous improvement and further development of their business processes. The comprehensive process documentation in the ProX IT tool of the Lufthansa Group not only creates transparency about processes and interfaces, but also enables a maximum of compliance through the integrated regulation management. In addition, we have established a tool-based methodology which, on the one hand, enables us to centrally manage a decentralized organization through the clear definition of design and execution responsibility and, on the other hand, forms the basis for global standardization. Throughout all our activities, we always focus on the employees executing a process as well as on integrating IT systems into the processes as long as they take over relevant sub-process steps.

Before I turned my attention to process management, I worked for six years in Corporate Purchasing at Lufthansa Technik AG and in Corporate Purchasing at Deutsche Lufthansa AG. On the one hand, my focus was on the optimization and digitalization of operational and strategic purchasing processes. On the other hand, I was intensively involved in the strategic realignment of the purchasing organization and was responsible for setting up a purchasing unit at a nearshoring location with a focus on supporting strategic buyers and supplier managers.

I see the link between digital solutions and a consistent process orientation as essential for sustainable business success. Companies that succeed in integrating innovative and digital solutions into their process organization while applying a strict process orientation and ensuring scalability to all affected units worldwide will determine the future of their industry.
